[Question Solved]Chromium Update

hi, i have a simply nub question

in the repos archlinux.org there are a old chromium 5.0.xxxx

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/chromium/

and in the AUR there are many last chromium

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37244
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31368

why in the archlinux.org don't use chromium-browser-bin LATEST-19?? it's more simple, and there is more faster(about updates)??

Re: [Question Solved]Chromium Update

probably because the LATEST whatever are more prone to breakage.

Also try and use the url tags for links as opposed to code tags.

Arch uses the latest stable release of any application, as designated by upstream developers.

Re: [Question Solved]Chromium Update

I wonder why this comes up again and again. There is not point in packaging latest development snapshots. That's what the AUR is for.

because they don't have a clue that chromium has 3 channels for updates. stable, beta and devel.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
