This problem is new cause I burned 4 or 5 cd's 10 days ago.
I roll back to udev 158 and k3b-1.93.0rc4 but rolling back did not solve this problem.

I have the same problem, creates coasters that the OS doesn't even recognize a CD is in the drive and everything starts lagging when you try to mount the drive manually. I see the cd light reading the cd, but nothing. Never had a problem with xfburn.

I had a similar issue last weekend - but with a different error on a debian machine (so may not be applicable):

I eventually used crdrecord and it worked fine...
