I'm trying to install wine but I don't know how to install the deps, can anyone explain how I install them? and is wine 1.1.44 the latest on Arch?

Re: Missing dependencies [Solved]

What a retarded topic name that makes no sense. big_smile

'pacman -S wine' says: wine-1.1.44-1
Pacman will handle all the deps installation for you. Just use the command from above.

Welcome to the boards. And read the wiki. smile

Re: Missing dependencies [Solved]

lol...yea you're right on the topic XD

I've already installed it but it only install Wine then I get
this "Optional dependencies for wine
    cups
    sane
    libgphoto2
    alsa-lib
    giflib
    libpng
    jack
    libldap
    lcms
    mpg123"
does that mean it's already installed?

Optional dependencies are just that : Optional.

You can choose to install them if you want or have the need to use those.

Re: Missing dependencies [Solved]

1. Change the topic please.
2. Learn to use Arch, and pacman in particular.  There is documentation - read it.

That's how Arch Linux is, philosophically.  It's your job to tune your system the way you want it.  It doesn't automatically do things for you (which other distributions may).  As everyone else said, read the Wiki.
