Strange XMMS problem

It started about few weeks ago - when I'm listening to music through xmms, it sometimes stops. Suddenly stops, not pause - I can't resume playing, I have to play the song from the begining. It stops even I do nothing with my computer (playing music in background)...

Also I've found that if I pause xmms, I can't resume it too.

It's not huge problem, but it is annoying when I have to restart playing song six times to listen 8 songs.

Re: Strange XMMS problem

I have the pause/resume bug aswell. I'm using v1.2.10 and I have no idea what can cause this.

A train station is where a train stops.
On my desk I have a workstation.

Re: Strange XMMS problem

I find it annoying any time someone mentiones they use (or god forbid even LIKE) xmms a million different idiots jump on them about BMP.

BMP is unstable and pretty damn alpha quality. The equalizer is crap compared to XMMS'.

Give it a rest.

Re: Strange XMMS problem

I actually argued why xmms sucked with this swedish guy once....then I found out he was the lead developer of xmms...

Re: Strange XMMS problem

So far only XMMS meets my needs. That's why I use it.

That happends on my pc when i unplug my usb mouse. Not realy a problem for me though (i just dont unplug my mouse that often :-)).

Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it.

Re: Strange XMMS problem

I've found that this problem appears only with ALSA output plugin. So the problem is with ALSA

Or the xmms alsa plugin.

I have absolutely no problems with alsa.

Re: Strange XMMS problem

it is most likely alsa problem, check here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=12057 I have the same problem with anything running on alsa framework, however using oss output seems to work much better (but anyway oss goes through oss compatibility in alsa)[/url]
