Light Tiling WM With Sys Tray?

I used to use wmii but I got tired of not having a built in system tray, so I began looking for other window managers that had them, I found subtle andn awesome. Subtle didn't work for me at all and awesome is alright, it's what I'm using now, but I was wondering if there were any others.

So in short only awesome and subtle have it. But trays are simple enough. Just install stalonetray or trayer or docker and allow for some space at the bottom to place it.

I used stalonetray with Musca for a long time until I found that I can do without it. Now I just don't use tray at all because the only app in my tray was skype and in i3, i can just assign a workspace to skype and be done with it.

dzen2 is another option.

wmii does come with a system tray program, witray. While it's not exactly "built in", it's quite well integrated, IMO.

Just use XMonad _ stalonetray and it's done!

ion3 has a systray built-in to the statusbar with the help of trayion.

Re: Light Tiling WM With Sys Tray?

euclid-wm has a 'stack' that asks as a task tray (not necessarily a system tray, with icons and such) and you can put persistent windows you don't need to see all the time (skype's main window) into the stack with Alt+. and bring it back with Alt+, and move between items in the stack with Alt+; or Alt+'

This is what I use and I really like it. It's in the AUR, and oddly enough I am also the package maintainer. Weird.

Where do I find witray?

.../usr/bin/witray? (First added in May 27, hg 2647:91080b00b924 - upgrade time!)

Ah, yes, I wasn't running wmii-hg.
