Re: kde-snapshot repo

I do that :

useradd -d /var -M -r -U kdm

found in kde-unstable topic

and it's working.

Yop, that's a solution too - I rather decided not to require the user to exist...KDM will automatically run under root.

Hello Madek,
you can download the previous Google Earth binary from this link
http://dl.google.com/earth/client/advanced/previous/GoogleEarthLinux.bin
I downgraded to 5.1.3535.3218 on i686, strangely enough on x86_64 version 5.2.1.1329 works fine.

If I remember correctly they added that so you shouldn't have to start X as root. It's just for security, but it's nice to have in my opinion.

Re: kde-snapshot repo

I'm having problems with akonadi starting since I have updated to extra's latest boost (1.43.0-1)

akonadictl start complains:
libboost_program_options-mt.so.1.41.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

simple ln will not work (diference in symbols)

could you recompile and reup the offending packages ?

Re: kde-snapshot repo

I rebuilt only kdesupport-akonadi because I seriously doubt anyone is using kdeedu-kig which depends on libboost too smile It will be rebuilt with next snapshot which is expected to come soon.

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Hi,
I just finished uploading KDE 4.4.90 aka KDE 4.5 RC1 to the repo.

I'm leaving for 11 days on Wednesday and I'll probably miss one or two snapshots, so you will have to get along well with this snapshot smile

Re: kde-snapshot repo

on me it has .92

[vamp898@VampLap vamp898]$ kmail --version
Qt: 4.6.3
KDE: 4.4.92 (KDE 4.4.92 (KDE 4.5 RC2))
KMail: 1.13.5

maybe you have an outdated mirror or something like that

on ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/kde-unstable/os/x86_64/ and nearly every german mirror (i tested not every but on every i tested it was) there is .92

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry for the outdated repo, but I have busy holidays this year. I'll wait for KDE 4.5.61 (who cares about 4.5 when we can already have 4.6!! smile ) and if it won't get out till Wednesday I'll build 4.5.60.
Also I have to buy a fan first, because I'm afraid I'd kill my notebook if I tried compiling KDE in this weather (it's damned hot in here).

Then I'll be off for three more weeks so no updates then...but after that it should already get regular again and you'll have your weekly snapshots for BESAA (Bleeding Edge Software Addicted Archers) smile

Thanks for understanding and have a nice day!

That's understandable.  How hard would it be to update the buildscripts in GIT to build 4.5RC2?  I have a whole pile of bugs to report (or try to help fix), and I can't easily verify if they are still present.  I'm fine with compiling it myself, but the scripts you have looked vaguely complicated.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm happy to RTFM, but I'm asking about the complexity to gauge whether it's worth using up some of my copious free time.

Re: kde-snapshot repo

jaem: it's quite simple, just open file config and edit the kdever variable, then run create-sources, update-pkgbuilds and finally build-packages.

Mmmm...

$ git clone git@gitorious.org:kde-snapshots-repo/kde-snapshots-repo.git
Cloning into kde-snapshots-repo...
Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

... out of practice with git; what's the pub-lickey problem ?
