The OSUOSL mirror, which I had been using for proximity, seems to have gone without a synchronization for nearly a week. Is this typical?

Pick one of those https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus

I am also in the 'neighborhood' of the OSUOSL and used to use them listed first, but I discovered mirrors.kernel.org tends to be faster and is updated more often.
I do keep osuosl in my mirrorlist but mirrors.kernel.org is always first in the list (actually second after my local pkgd listing.) I would suggest using rankmirrors and compare that to the mirror status list posted above to find the most up to date servers with the best response times...
this post: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=101945 has the most likely answer as to why the OSUOSL is not up to date.
Hope that helps.

I hope all Archer won't jump on the mirrors.kernel.org bandwagon. Some other mirrors have nice speed & update status too.

Thanks all. It must be related to the two-tier change discussed in the other thread. I'll switch elsewhere for now.

I use the rit mirror. I recently changed it from cs.vt.edu to rit.edu.
Works pretty well.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

For future reference, please post all you want about mirror status in:

Yeah, mine stayed out of date for quite a while, but it started working again yesterday, and now it seems even faster than it was before (it was already the fastest mirror I could find for me, and it's probably the closest to where I live too). Seems to be solved ![]()
