Images displayed strangely in Firefox

So, I have this bizarre issue with firefox.  Some images (but not all) get displayed with very strange colours.

For example:

tNTYwdQ

And how this image should look:

tNTYwdg

This only occurs in firefox.  I have tried removing the ~/.mozilla directory, to no effect.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?  I'm totally clueless.

Re: Images displayed strangely in Firefox

I have a similiar problem with images in firefox and I also don't know, why this happens, though firefox isn't my no. 1 browser.

Is this image also a png?

No, it's a jpg image, though my screenshot is a png and also looks messed up to me.

Maybe you use The Ultimate 'Shrooms extension or some bizarre userstyle?

Only extensions are adblock plus, noscript, and vimperator.  No userstyles whatsoever.

Re: Images displayed strangely in Firefox

IIRC 'firefox -p' created a new profile. If '-p' won't work, try '-P'.

New profile makes no difference, unfortunately.

I once had the same issue

switching from internal amd/ati graphics to an nvidia card resolved the issue for me

LOL!
That's just about the weirdest solution I've heard in a while - and I mean weird in a funny sense :-)

vimperator might do it ?
dose it look fine with it uninstalled and ff reinstalled ( clean ff install)
Klepper has a good idea -- is your card a ATI ?

but i think the VI emulator is to blame .

I use vimperator and went to that site to check - all is well here w/ an integrated Intel card.
