Hi, so I finally got an arch gnome desktop installed on my eeepc 1005ha, and so far I think its awesome, but I've been having issues connecting to my University's 802.1x wireless network. I installed network manager and the gnome applet and a few times it connected fine the first time, but most of the time I have to try connecting multiple times for it to connect and a good amount of the time I give up because it's taking so long. I'm sure the profile for the network is configured correctly, as its the same in Ubuntu.
Security: 802.1x
Authentication: TTLS
Anonymous ID: anonymous
CA Cert: Thawte_Premium_Server.ca
Inner Auth: PAP
Username: my user name
Password: my password
My Ubuntu 10.04 install isn't having this problem, and as far as I can tell I haven't screwed anything up, so can anyone offer any help?

Have you checked the logs? You might want to post them here in order to offer more info.

you could also try using wicd or any other network manager, just to make sure its not an issue with nm-applet.

What wireless chip do you have ??
If its a Broadcom b44, then there have been issues with the latest kernel 2.6.34.1.
You need to either downgrade the kernel OR better yet upgrade to kernel 2.6.34.2 or 2.6.35. Note however, that some users also had problems with these kernels. YMMV.

It's the atheros chipset supported in the kernal, Ath9k I think its called.
