Tethering IPhone with iOS4 in Arch?

Hi,

Following these instructions: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IPhone_Tethering

I'm trying to tether my iPhone 3G with iOS4 natively via USB with libimobiledevice. I've kernel 2.6.34 (latest update) and knetworkmanager under KDE. I can mount the phone with ifuse just fine and tethering via Bluetooth works. This one doesn't. Knetworkmanager does not show the phone and ifconfig does not show any interface for it, as is supposed to happen.

Has anyone tried this and made it work? I notice in the Wiki it says it hasn't been tested in iOS4 although this page here http://everydaylht.com/2010/06/22/ios4-and-linux/ claims that there's an update to libimobiledevice which works (I've updated and it does nothing).

Re: Tethering IPhone with iOS4 in Arch?

Have you tried removing the ipheth kernel module to use the one compiled from git as suggested at the bottom of the archwiki page?
I've kept my 3G at 3.1 so haven't got your problem. In any case, It probably won't be long before there's a fix.

Yep, tried that as well, to no avail. Ah well, probably just have to wait for the update...
