This is my workspace for August. Been confined to my laptop while on vacation, and realized that Openbox just wasn't cutting it anymore for my working style, and so I changed to AwesomeWM. Thumbnail links to dA.
I've added some Japanese to it, due to the fact that I'm learning the language and figured practice might be useful. If anyone has a suggestion for a workspace (word that suits it better, for example), please, feel free to suggest it! Besides the actual workspace, there have been no changes to my icons, file manager, or .Xdefaults since my last screenshot. Overall, I'm quite happy with this setup. The only thing I have yet to add is a conky, since the .conkyrc I was using earlier causes AwesomeWM to treat conky like an open window (i.e. the box in the taglist is there, and you can close it with shift + meta + c). I'll fiddle around with that on a rainy day.

@edma2
Where did you find that nifty little script for displaying your colours like that?
Somewhere on this site. But here's a pastebin for your convenience: http://pastebin.org/513448

Haha, woo Did you use my article on Grunge Wallpapers from ALM, or just download it off my dA (or someplace else, I've forgotten where exactly I uploaded it)?

I love those icons you've used for your tab labels, do you remember where you got them from and or is there more like that?

@splittercode: Very nice. Would you please share your stumpwm config(s)? Your screenshot makes me want to try it again. :}
Clean, dirty (code layout with urgent notification in screen+irssi), web layout, and colors.
w1ntermute wrote:Wow, looks awesome. Can you post your xmonad.hs and whatever other config files are necessary to get that status bar setup? It looks very nice, particularly the urgent notification thing.

@valet: I second these requests. Would you please post your full xmonad.hs {etc} and icon links if possible. Really beautiful

I like the view/tags area in the corner.
Stumpwm feature?
Yep. It has a few different ways to list windows/groups like that. Pretty useful stuff.
EDIT: to the guys asking where valvet got his icons, I think they are from here -> http://dzen.geekmode.org/dwiki/doku.php … icon-packs

KDE 4.6
Nice, is this something like globalmenu you are using in the top panel? What package is needed for that or how did you achieve this (just a new feature?)?

And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found.

@thms: I think I can answer this question, because I use the same menu. Its the Xbar-plasmoid from the bespin package. You can find it in AUR.
