Hi,
I was a KDEmod user and thought of trying out KDE-meta. I renamed .kdemod4 to .kde4 and did
# pacman -Rscnd kdemod-uninstall after that, I accidently gave
# pacman -S kdeand after sometime, realised the fault and did ^C twice to quit. Then I again started to
# pacman -S kde-meta After some packages with errors were redownloaded, this is the error I am getting:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
kdebase-runtime: /usr/share/icons/default.kde4 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.I do not know further steps. what should be done now?
/var/cache/pacman/pkg has files of kdemod and kde-meta packages.
Please do help

Everything void is absolute and everything absolute is void.

remove the file in question and try to re-install kde-meta
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

It worked. Thanks.
But by doing so, will my previous settings from KDEmod will be lost?

if you mean the user settings under .kdemod then no. All you are deleting is the /usr/share/icons/default.kde4 file.
