Pacman Fails Due To Existing Files

I  tried to run an upgrade on my mail server today and received the following error:

:: Retrieving packages from core...
 pacman-mirrorlist-20100825-1-any                                               1.9K   30.5M/s 00:00:00 [##############################################################] 100%

(6/6) checking for file conflicts                                                                       [##############################################################] 100%
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
dovecot: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

I obviously do have a /etc/dovecot.conf file in place since I am running and trying to upgrade the package. I do have Dovecot installed and running fine:

[carlos@mail ~]$ sudo pacman -Qs dovecot
local/dovecot 1.2.13-1
    An IMAP and POP3 server written with security primarily in mind

How do I resolve this?
