Polkit Messages when exiting X

I'm posting here because I *think* these messages are related to my being unable to connect to my university wireless connection at the moment.

I begin my X sessions from the CLI using "startx".

I'm using NetworkManager with the GNOME applet within Openbox. Upon exiting my X session I have the following errors.

(polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:1948): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `_PolkitError'

(polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:1948): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed
