Hello,
I've installed gparted but cannot start it. I get this error:
[mak@myhost ~]$ gparted
Inhibit all polling failed: Only uid 0 is authorized to inhibit the daemon
[mak@myhost ~]$
Any idea?
Thanks,
jmak

You need to be root to run gparted. sudo, su, ...

When I start as root, I get this error message.
[root@myhost ~]# gparted
/usr/sbin/gpartedbin: error while loading shared libraries: libparted.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

did you somehow manage to not install parted when you installed gparted?

Thanks. I was not aware that I have to install parted as well. I installed it and now gparted works.

cool, glad that it worked.
Just out of curiosity, how did you install gparted? pacman should have pulled in all the dependencies for gparted, which should have included parted.

I installed gparted using pacman, but it seems, parted was not included among the dependencies.

Hmm. I remember that gparted was automatically asking for root pass throught gksu. Now it doesn't work. It's a bug or feature?
