I am using Arch with the latest KDE, it is running very well. Had some issues with kvpnc (for using, amongst others, openvpn) though. Couldn't find a solution easily, found one in the end, and thought it would be good to post it here.
The trouble I had was the following. KVpnc was ok when running as root. I carefully followed the instructions to get it running as a non-root user, but it kept on crashing.
The message that KCrash gave was as follows:
"Attempting to start /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit"
After a long search I found that this is actually an error caused by KWallet, which indeed was being used by KVpnc (a configuration option). So removed this, i.e., made KVpnc run without KWallet, and the crash disappeared.
However, still not functional. Then installed kdesudo from AUR and filled in "kdesudo kvpnc" instead of "sudo kvpnc".
Now it works fine, problems solved.
