WICD can not connect to an unencrypted wireless network

Hello all,

it seems that I've run into a tiny problem. When I try to connect to an unencrypted wireless network, WICD comes with an error "Cannot obtain IP". I did some investigation and found out that it isn't setting the wireless essid on wlan0 but setting the AP's MAC address.

My wireless adapter is using the rt2860sta drivers, and manually (iwconfig) I'm able to connect to the unencrypted wireless network.

My /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf  :

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
# change ap_scan to 2 if running into problems
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1
eapol_version=1

Any idea to what might be the problem ?
