I just got my new monitor today and now I'm trying to set up dual screen and am rather confused on how to set up the monitors the way I want to. Currently I'm using an Nvidia GTX 460 with two monitors, a 22'' on the first DVI and a 25'' on my mini hdmi slot. Right now the system boots and shows all loading displays on the 22'' as well as applications starting in the 22'', which leads to a problem. I play WoW on maximized windowed mode. It starts on the 22'' but I want to start it, all apps and the bootup on the 25''. Right now the 25'' is in front of me and the 22'' is to my left. I am using the default 10-monitor.conf on the Xorg wiki page. So my few questions are...
1) How do I give priority to the 25'' over the 22'' for everything?
2) I use a custom feh script for background setting, is there a way to set different backgrounds for each monitor every certain amount of minutes? (I use crontab to run the script, but considering feh reads the monitors as one whole monitor, it promotes a problem to run two seperate scripts with only different display points.)
Any help would be great, I tried a couple different things earlier to modify the 10-monitor, but I kept messing things up.
Edit: Forgot to test other things. Mplayer is also pure black on the 25'' where on the 22'' it's playing video just fine.

what driver are you using and what DE too?

Nvidia drivers are 256.53, using Fluxbox on x86_64. Sorry, knew I was going to forget some details.

Try setting up the monitors using nvidia-settings

Search the forums. There are atleast 10 different threads on 1. In short, you need to use xrandr to set up the 2 monitors.
Question 2 is also there on the forums. In short, you cannot use feh to set different wallpapers. Atleast those who have tried haven't gotten it to work.
Closing ....
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !
