Hi to everyone.

Could anyone package this?: Libre Office

LibreOffice is a productivity suite that is compatible with other major office suites, and available on a variety of platforms. It is free software and therefore free to download, use and distribute.

It's a rebranded go-openoffice for now only, but it's not go-openoffice.

And as for making an official package named "libreoffice", it might be worth it to wait. The forkers (??) asked Oracle to the "OpenOffice.org" brand, and until they get a response they are using the temporary name "LibreOffice".

Go-OpenOffice and LibreOffice are two very different projects.

Please read further on Libreoffice's own website's FAQ (which you kindly posted), its clearly stated that it would draw FIRST on all the go-oo work. This effectively deprecates go-oo, since its main sponsor (Novell) is very supportive of LibreOffice as well.

And now we have 3 versions in AUR for the same thing. More work for the TUs. someone should delete these from AUR

Think Oracle's response on this is rather predictable, so LibreOffice is the way to go ! My hope would be, though, that go-ooo and LibreOffice can be merged soon, now that Oracle is out of the way.

My package has version 3.3.0-beta1

Today beta2 is out. I'm going to update my package.

Because that's the rule. If there is the same package (here named "libreoffice") in an repo, it has to be deleted in AUR "because of the name clash with the version in [testing]". And 3.2.99.2-1 IS the beta.

My package had name libreoffice-base-bin.Package from Extra Testing calls libreoffice.
My package had version 3.3.0-beta1. Package from Testins is 3.2.99.2

I think it isn't the rule violation.

my opinion is that libreoffice-base-bin shouldn't be deleted but upload it with a more appropriate name, like libreoffice-bin
