Cross-platform worm targets Facebook users

A new member of the Koobface family of malware has been making the headlines in the last 24 hours. The reason why the threat, which is sometimes being referred to as "Boonana", has been getting so much attention is that it doesn't just infect Windows, but targets Mac OS X and Linux computers too.

Might be worth a heads-up given we usually consider ourselves invulnerable to malware.

You'd have to be a total fool to get caught by this one but worth making people aware that the *nix is becoming a bigger target for malware than it once was.

Re: Cross-platform worm targets Facebook users

Java has recently become a major attack vector for exploits (link one, link two).

More details about the linux version can be found here.
