Re: KDE/Plasma Screenshots

For some reason it never occured to me that I could change the colors of my wallpapers to fit better in my color schemes. Well I did some quick editing to one of my favourite wallpapers, far from perfect but good engouh:
4. January 2010 (Original):

31. October 2010 (Altered colors, Blurred):

Plasma theme is Fragile, with icons from krayscale. Icontheme is a modified version of Kicons 2.

The window decorator is the default oxygen decorator, together with QtCurve as Qt and GTK theme.

The stuff on the desktop is conky and the dock is avant-window-navigator.

Oh, and the fonts are ttf-droid. smile

(Yes, I know the crop for the thumbnails is horrible. I just used the built-in function of imgur)

Yep, the uniq suite is really great but there are some points for improvement.
The plasma theme for example has some glitches and many icons are missing so you have to combine the icon theme with an other dark theme.

Re: KDE/Plasma Screenshots

I never did fully make up my mind between KDE, GNOME, Xfce, and OpenBox, but luckily KDE lets me incorporate aspects from all of them (as well as OS X/Win7).

I've been playing around with window tiling lately.  It's pretty sweet, when it works right!  I'd like to keep essential windows open on certain desktops, or tile windows for programs that I need to monitor rather than work with (like transmission or backintime).  For some reason, though, Kate won't tile sad

How did you get the hypnotoad on?

Re: KDE/Plasma Screenshots

Check out the wiki page on colored bash prompts.  I just added info on that last week.  You'll need a net connection to pull the qoutes, though.

If you search the forums, you can find a script that will colorize hypnotoad for you;  I personally think he looks better in black-and-white.  I forgot who wrote the script, but whoever you are, much thanks.

This is probably one of the better things I've seen this year. You should upload it to kde-look and see what feedback you get. big_smile

Thought I recognized that username from somwhere.  Your uniq theme inspired the variation I've got in my above screenshot...well, the titlebars and color scheme's still there, at least. tongue Great work again!
