Hmm, and unexplainable event just occurred. I had been using my mouse in a couple SDL games (Urban Terror, Zaz) and it worked fine. I just added another user and tried to play Urban Terror and the mouse didn't work. I went back to my original user and tried the same games again and I'm getting no response from the mouse: mouse-click, movement. I thought it might have to do with this thread but 'export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0' had no effect. I tried to reinstall all the sdl libraries on my system to no effect:
pm -S --asdeps sdl sdl_image sdl_mixer sdl_net sdl_ttf smpeg
Any ideas, on what is happening? Anyone else getting this problem?

Hey thanks, arkham. However, when I reinstalled the deps above I tried again a half an hour later on my system and the mouse was back. So don't know what to say but the probably my system is bjorked. Plasma crashed when I ran a basic script, so somethine bjorked. Time for a reinstall I think.
Strange things are afoot...

Hmm... it's come back.
At times the mouse will work just fine and other times the mouse will lock (no movement or mouse-clicks). It seems to be related to this bug with the xorg server.
When it isn't working I've noticed this error in my Xorg.0.log:
(EE) XKB: No components provided for device Virtual core keyboard
No explanation yet on just what is happening that enables the mouse again.

Looks like this might be a KDM issue. If I logout as one user and login as another I can get this problem (Doesn't happen all the time, but most). The /var/lob/kdm.log also shows this error message. If I logout, restart kdm, and login am not getting the '(EE) XKB: No components pro...' error anymore and the mouse works in games.

Probably off-topic, but I have absolutely the same problem on my Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 + KDE3/Trinity installation.
