Sansa Fuze not being recognized

I stopped seeing my Fuze in thunar. 
The output of lsusb is:

Bus 004 Device 028: ID 0781:74c3 SanDisk Corp.

So I know it's there, but I can't get past this output of dmesg:

Are you sure it is in 'mass storage'-mode? IIRC I had a Sansa MP3-player and I could only see it show up after holding down a button for more than 5 seconds and then connecting it to my pc.

If you use Sandisk's firmware, yes, make sure the USB mode is set to MSC. The "auto" option didn't work for me. Though I use nautilus, my Fuze seemed to use MTP until I forced MSC.

I have it in msc mode.

Bus 004 Device 022: ID 0781:74c3 SanDisk Corp. Sansa Fuze V2 (msc)

Is there a way I can use the ID 0781:74c3 to mount the device?

The Sansa Fuze does not have partitions.  Mine just worked when I mounted /dev/sdb.  (No partition number!)
