samsung scx 4300: printing pictures as negatives?

hello,

today i found out that my samsung printer prints texts just fine but the colour of pictures is inverted. here's a printed and then scanned example:

the printer is shared and the effect is the same when the print is initiated from a remote host.

cups-usblp 1.4.4-4
splix 2.0.0-7

anyone else experiences this problem? thank you,

update: test page seems okay. so maybe this problem only affects printing bitmaps

I have the same problem with samsung ML-2015.
Images that were pasted in OOo Writer printed fine.

which is most likely because OOo Writer converts them to vectors. is there a bug report already?

Same problem for me with Samsung ml-2010. For example I can't print any maps from "google maps" anymore. They are printed with inverted colors. Looks awfull.

Switching back to the foomatic/gdi driver solves the problem. But these drivers are not as good as the splix drivers.

Did anyone file a bug report?

Found the package that causes this problem. Just downgraded ghostscript to "ghostscript-8.71-3". Everything works again. Hopefully this is not an incompatibility between splix 2.0 and ghostscript 9.0

Same for me on Arch64 with splix and a Samsung ML-2010
The Bug report is marked as a Duplicate from FS#21388 but for me it seems not the same..

I can Print from all applications but Pictures print as negatives.

Downgrading ghostscript solve the problem, but causes dependency errors.

It depends shurly on ghostscript update but not on a PDF problem.

I experience the same behaviour. I have OKI B410d printer, using OKI's own driver, available as AUR package:

Everything is fine with ghostscript 8.71-3, upgrading to 9.00-1 causes images in PDF files to be printed
in negative. I thought it was a problem with my .tex files or pdflatex or png files themselves.
PDF files that contain png images with transparency cause the entire page to be negative.
Without transparency just the png file is negative. JPG files are negative as well, converting between png, eps and pdf
formats doesn't help either. I even tried taking a screenshot of a png image
Creating a negative png image, putting it in the .tex document and printing that results in correct printout
(the same as when original image and ghostscript 8.71 is used).

I have also tried using different drivers, for example ljet4 works fine, without
negative images, but it stops working after the first printout - all I get is some garbage on the paper.

When printing i got only printer internal errorpage that says "INTERNAL ERROR - Please use proper driver"...

Also not working for me. The Printer is connected to a print server. I can print, but everytime I get the same page with the mentioned error message.

And what is the purpose of this? Instead of just installing the ghostscript-8.71-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz package with pacman -U?
