The wiki has not been updated for the 2.6.36 kernel. You need to google.

We don't lock threads just because they're done (maybe we should though). Just edit your first post and mark it [solved].

If you've solved this problem why not add a paragraph to the Wiki?

Re: [Solved] Vmware doesn't work with kernel 2.6.36

thanks for posting this, I ran the referenced script yet for some reason still continue to have one issue with the 'Virtual ethernet' module ... I did update the Vmware:Talk page, but not the front page yet, as I still havingtrouble with Virtual ethernet. anyone else running into a similar issue and have a potential fix for kernel 2.6.36?

Starting VMware services:
   VMware USB Arbitrator done
   Virtual machine monitor done
   Virtual machine communication interface done
VM communication interface socket family done
   Blocking file system done
   Virtual ethernet failed

Re: [Solved] Vmware doesn't work with kernel 2.6.36

For me (Arch x64), the script fixed the problem.

Starting VMware services:
   VMware USB Arbitrator done
   Virtual machine monitor done
   Virtual machine communication interface done
VM communication interface socket family done
   Blocking file system done
   Virtual ethernet done
   Shared Memory Available done

# wget http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/1650169-45603/vmmon_fix_2.6.36.sh

# sh ./vmmon_fix_2.6.36.sh
