My Acer Aspire 4736 works wonderfully with Arch. The wired and wireless adapters work perfectly out of the box (which is nice, as most distros hate my wired adapter), which made the install a breeze.
After finishing the install and getting a Gnome desktop up and running with all my apps I like, everything works wonderfully!
The one thing that refuses to work though is the brightness settings. When I press the buttons (using the function keys) the brightness indicator shows up on the desktop going up and down, but nothing actually changes. Although I've had this problem with every Linux distro I've used on my laptop. Also I get the occasional time when I suspend-to-RAM/sleep and instead of sleeping, the fan goes crazy and I get a black screen and am eventually forced to cut the power and restart... This is VERY annoying, but it's also another problem I've had with all Linux distros on this laptop, so I've kind of gotten used to it.
I like Arch

Gateway MX3560 - everything works out of the box. Intel wireless and graphics.
Macbook Pro 13" 2010 - so far so good, it's a work in progress though. Between the Ubuntu help page, the Arch wiki page, and Allen (BTW thanks), everything works except the 10hr battery (but thats ok). The wireless adapter takes almost 1 minute to activate after logging in, but it works fine after that.

Dell Vostro V13, and Sony Vaio VGN AR520E - everything works perfectly; the Sony I would have assumed was the more problematic - I just had to apply a powermizer clamping for the nvidia drivers else it goes berserk, as I learned from Ubuntu Karmic

Samsung R580
Pretty much everything works OOtB: graphics (w/ binary driver), wireless, sound, webcam, etc.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 430M @ 2.27 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 310M w/ 512 MiB VRAM
Audio: Intel HDA 3400 Series (got this from lspci output; don't quote me on it )
Wireless NIC: Atheros AR9285 (works with in-kernel ath9k driver)
Pretty much the only thing I've found that doesn't work is LCD brightness adjustment with the Fn keys. However, I've been able to get it to automatically dim the display when running on battery, so it's not that big of a deal for me.

ASUS 1201N
Not really a laptop, but it's close. It's pretty slow, but it is usable running a desktop environment like XFCE or GNOME.
This is one of the netbooks that does NOT have nvidia optimus - which is a good thing because it is not currently supported on linux. The nvidia ION graphics in the 1201N is surprisingly powerful - it runs all the time and the battery life is just fine.
The wireless card is a realtek (unsupported by mainstream kernel) which requires you to get module source code from realtek to build the r8192se_pci module. It barely works and quits talking all the time, forcing me to reload the module. It's a standard 1/2 size mini pci-e, so if you disassemble the netbook you can replace it with a better supported wireless card (like an intel).
I haven't loaded any of the eee specific stuff from the AUR, but suspend/resume works out of the box, so I'm happy.

The problem with the world is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

HP G61-100SA
Everything detected and working from the get go.
It uses an Atheros Wireless Card. Which no matter how hard I try, will always flash with data transmission.
Prior to the latest few Kernels there was a script that would sort this, unfortunately that no longer works and none of the kernel modules that are loaded seem to have any parameters for LED disabling
That is the ONLY negative thing. Sound works, Camera works, Wireless works...it all just ...well works!

Asus UL20A. Cheap, fairly powerful. I dual boot Arch and Windows 7, but my main OS is Arch.
Install ws hard as there is no DVD drive, and USB didn't work for a very long time. But it was worth it.

I have a top of the range Dell C400 which runs Arch
Well it may have been pretty near the top eight years ago... But Arch (and Linux Mint LXDE) are the only modern distro's to run from the word go on this beaut due to the Intel i830 graphics chip problem re KMS - even Ubuntu and Debian don't seem to cope at all well!
Flash video's run far better in Arch than on Mint LXDE due to a leaner distro no doubt.

Writing this from a HP Envy 13 running 64-bit Arch with KDE. Everything seems to be working perfectly except the touchpad. Right-clicking doesn't work and the mouse area is stretched out over the buttons so clicking will move the cursor 99% of the time. Some practical tests and rough calculations tell me that I should be getting a minimum of 7 hours of battery life while playing video at 720p. Now I just need to wait for a newer synaptics driver...

Dell Studio 1737:
Intel Core2 Duo P8400 (2.26GHz)
4GB RAM
320GB HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Running Arch x86_64 on kernel 2.6.36-ARCH and DWM.
Everything runs smoothly including the onboard camera. Battery life isn't so hot, but I then again I need to do some more tinkering with the configuration to improve it.

HP dm4-1060us - http://goo.gl/1191R
The touchpad had some issues initially but works satisfactorily now. The fingertip reader doesn't work of course. The only issue I have is with the Intel graphic drivers: the screen goes black once the kernel starts to load, I have to manually turn up the brightness. The fan is also loud and it gets hot pretty quickly but I think that's just a general problem with the laptop. A firmware upgrade should fix this but I think Windows is required to install it.

HP Pavilion DV6-3150US:
i5 2.53GHz processor
15.6 inch screen w/1366x768 Resolution
640 GB Hard Drive
4 GB RAM
Comes w/64bit Win 7 Home Prem
Works flawlessly w/Arch. Volume keys work others not tested. Wi-Fi out of the box support. Touchpad (Synaptics) R-Click is a tap not actually a click on the touchpad. This is a plus to me not really a minus as it's easier to use. Have not tested suspend to Ram & other power saving measures for functionality yet. Might mention that all 4 primary partitions are taken up by HP & Windows so you'll need to address this.
Edit: Installed Arch64 for the first time works great (multilib support).
