HDA Intel (Realtek ALC1200) with two outputs in pulseaudio
Hi all,
I've searched thoroughly and the situation looks grim, but I thought I would ask anyway.
I'm wondering if it is possible to have two different sound outputs (the back 'green' sound jack and the front "headphone" jack) from the one sound card (HDA intel on the P5Q Pro motherboard). That is, one output plays something like background music while the other plays sounds from a game, for example. Pulseaudio is preferred.

and it's git version don't seem to add any functionality, but I could have easily missed it.
This topic (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=92199) may be similar to what I want, but the OP's language is not very clear.
I have added this line to my /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto enable_msi=1
... and nothing seems to really change from this. alsamixer does not display anything different. I'm really not sure how another output from the same sound card would manifest itself, but it doesn't appear obvious.
Is this possible? Please share your insight. Thanks!

I have confirmed this functionality on Windows 7. Much like pulseaudio would work (I expect), another output appears to handle audio.
I installed the latest drivers from the realtek website but cannot see any difference it may have made. Also, modifying the line in /etc/modprobe.conf to this:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto probe_mask=1
does not appear to make any difference either. It is very difficult to find any support on this topic as it seems this codec had a lot of issues with linux a few years ago, so most of the google results I found merely talk about getting any sound working. Surely the functionality is there, does anyone know?
