Traceroute gave me the following error:
traceroute: unknown protocol icmp
After adding the /etc/protocols file to my system, the error disappeared and traceroute worked again.
Is this file installed by default ?
It didn't exist on my system.
Strange thing is: traceroute used to work in the past.
And I can't remember deleting this file myself.

pacman -Qo /etc/protocols says
/etc/protocols is owned by iana-etc 2.30-1
I think iana-etc isn't included in the installation image but pacman -Syu should it install because it's dependency of filesystem.

pacman -Ss iana-etc shows
core/iana-etc 2.30-1 [installed]
/etc/protocols and /etc/services provided by IANA
The package seems to be installed on my system but /etc/services doesn't exist either.
Weird...
I did a pacman -S iana-etc and both files are now installed.
