@ProgDan
Yeah i notice that k3b is ok but issue with undetected devices . Well all i can do is wait then.. But i will give a shot with your package. Downloading it right now and hope it's can fix my systemtray issue and minimze the segfault from strigi... Even i already disabled the strigi service, it's always shown an error
"strigidaemon is not running" >.<" i want to post it to bugs.kde but didn't know exact which section is suitable ,

If the strigi will work with this repo, then it was either fixed in RC or it is a bug in packaging. If it still crashes, try removing all the strigi/nepomuk related config. It sometimes happens with the snapshots that some configuration changes and the app starts crashing with the old config file. If it will keep crashing, try reporting problem to the Nepomuk section.

@ProgDan
The config is stay inside .$HOME/.kde4 right? or inside /etc/apps/ ? I was try another approach by creating new user but still got segfault. Let me see with PKG from u .. unfortunately my connection is unstable lately. Maybe i will report it back tomorrow
Merry christmas, thanks for your hardwork make a package for KDE snapshot

It's in ~/.kde4/share/apps/ and ~/.kde4/share/config/. Never heard about /etc/apps

Hola hey,
a new year is here, so it's time for a radical change, don't you think? KDE 4.6 is almost stable and we have [kde-unstable] for it, so why not to go for KDE 4.7? The repo has been updated to KDE 4.6.41, the second development snapshot of KDE 4.7. Let us see, how the future of our beloved desktop will look like.

Using this kde-repository I cant start kdm, when i start it, X starts up, then exits and I get some errors in dmesg about something erroneous in Qt. I know, I should've saved the error message. However, my question is, has anyone else had the same experience? I'm running 64-bit version, and a clean install, no previous KDE nor .kde4-dir. Also, if I install gdm, it doesn't show KDE as a DE to start, so something is odd for me. Thanks.

Yes I also have segfault in kdm (in libQtCore.so.4.7.1) I am using 32bit version.

Good it's working now : thanks

Same here. KDE itself seems to work though. I'm using GDM as a workaround, but I needed to symlink /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions/kde-plasma.desktop to /usr/share/xsessions in order to let GDM show the option of KDE.

Got it running on the craptop (although I do run it via startx) with no issue

I just built (yeah, I love my new Core i5 ) and uploaded qt-debug ([extra]'s Qt with debug symbols) into [kde-snapshots-extra], so if you are interested in finding something more about what's wrong, suite yourself. I'm not getting any crash on x86_64, but maybe you people will have more "luck".

Thanks for providing the qt-debug package, but how can we get a backtrace from kdm_greet?
If I run kdm_greet directly, it says "This program is part of kdm and should not be run manually." If I run kdm in gdb, I just see it run and exit without crashing. If I "set follow-fork-mode child" in gdb, I see that it executes kdm_config, but it also exits without crashing. KDM's README says using kdm -debug 64 can help with debugging greeter crashes, but it doesn't change anything for me.
There's no backtrace in /var/log/kdm.log. Actually, I only knew it was a segfault because I get a line that says
kdm_greet[30934]: segfault at 0 ip b6dd840c sp bf858980 error 6 in libQtCore.so.4.7.1[b6d71000+2ab000]
in dmesg. The [b6d71000+2ab000] stays the same each time I run kdm.

@vtlmks: I fixed PKGBUILDs, next snapshot will be with Xine and PulseAudio support
OT: there was a discussion about K3B and HAL some time ago. I don't know if you have noticed, but latest stable release can now be built with HAL disabled. The [extra]'s K3B still depends on HAL, but the k3b-git from AUR should work without HAL properly.

[extra]'s k3b doesn't depend on hal, at least since yesterday's update

@SS4: well, HAL was never listed in depends array in k3b. Anyway, I didn't expressed exactly what I meant in the post above What I wanted to say is, that AUR's k3b is build wihout the HAL support at all, meanwhile [extra]'s still has support for HAL.
But what the most important is, that it should work properly without HAL now (I haven't tried it yet)

Ah, that makes sense. I've not tested the AUR but I managed to burn an audio CD without any issues on the one in extra.
Also good job on the repo, 4.6 is getting boring!

I switched temporarily to building kde-unstable and then the final 4.6 but SS4 is right, it's boring - so I'm coming back over to kde-snapshots for some excitement. The kde source is in the midst of transferring to git so things are messy right now and they're moving stuff around and renaming things too. Here's what I know so far:
kdebase-runtime and kdebase-workspace are now kde-runtime and kde-workspace and both are on git.
kdebase is now kde-baseapps and is on git
konsole is in its own repo
kate is in its own repo but includes kwrite now
kdebindings is on git and has been broken up into separate repos for each language binding. I tried to figure it out but gave up. I've still got the release 4.6 kdebindings installed for now.
kdepim and kdepim-runtime are separate repos now, both on git
Most of the rest is still on svn but probably won't be for long.
I managed to build myself a 4.6.41 current as of yesterday or thereabouts. I didn't bother trying to use the create-sources script, but just did my checkouts by hand. It's working and doesn't seem much more flaky than 4.6 final.
Offline
Yeah, the create-sources script is not working atm anyway. I'll fix it with next snapshot. It's weird, because it's already one month since last snapshot and no informations when next snapshot is comming
Offline
I think the create-sources script has been updated upstream

So, a next build will be only on version change in https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/k … eLists.txt ?
