I can't auto-mount CD/DVD/USB on LXDE

Maybe I missed a step, but I find myself unable to get my Arch Linux guest system with LXDE on VMware to auto-mount my CD, DVD, or USB drives. I (seem to) have followed the instructions in the HAL wiki page under Troubleshooting > Auto-mounting fails. What should I try next?

HAL is being stripped out of linux entirely. You should go with a udev-solution or maybe use pmount (easier to configure).

You should also search the forums. There are many posts on how to setup auto-mounting.
