Hi,
I know the topic has been discussed already, but I still have the problem with high CPU usage by nempomukserver and dbus-daemon, even though I upgraded soprano to 2.5.63-2 (as pointed out in [Solved] KDE 4.6 kded4 process 100% CPU):
$ sudo pacman -U --asdeps ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/extra/os/x86_64/soprano-2.5.63-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
$ pacman -Q soprano
soprano 2.5.63-2
I don't know what's wrong with my setup, since the newer version of the soprano package helped others to solve the issue. I don't know what info should I provide, too, because I couldn't find what is the cause of the problem. Any help would be appreciated, since I dearly miss my desktop search!
Dimitar
P.S. I don't use KDEmod

try to reset all your akonadi & nepomuk files.

Thanks for the reply. I logged in KDE with an empty $HOME directory and the two processes were still there, using ~33% and ~20% of CPU0 and CPU1. I thought that strigi may index file (although there were none), but it said in the system settings, that it was idle.

Do you, by any chance, use compiz as window manager? I was having this very same problem and it went away as soon as turned kwin back on...

I have the same problem as dimitar including the CPU percentages with an empty $HOME directory (but not latest soprano - I was mistaken there). With latest soprano ...-2) the problem disappeared.

No, I use KWin (btw, it's much faster (or at least it "feels" so) than 4.5 even with the nouveau driver!... thanks Martin Gräßlin! )

Damn! I hate being the odd case
Btw, I read somewhere that KDE 4.6 was supposed to be shipped with soprano 2.6. But now we still have 2.5.63 which is beta and there are no updates since November. This is why I tried soprano-git from AUR and now it works!!!
I'll try again with 2.5.63-2, since there were other updates today that might affect it.
Thanks to all for the suggestions!
P.S. Stupid question: how should I mark the topic as solved? Or do the moderators do that? Sorry, I am a newbie

Yep, today nepomuk decided to play nice with soprano 2.5.63-2, too. I hope it keeps that attitude
