A few days ago pcmanfm stopped mounting an external hard drive when run with normal privileges, giving me an error, "Not Authorized."
I looked on the wiki and found that adding ck-launch-session to .xinitrc should fix the problem, but it was already there from when I had this problem a few months ago. I've tried reinstalling consolekit and hal with no luck.
Any possible fixes?

have you tried using udev or udiskie or devmon as listed in the wiki page?
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

I tried adding the rule to automount drives allowing users to unmount them, and the drive would mount and allow me to access it, but I still couldn't unmount through pcmanfm or remount it (when sudo umount'ing it).
Thanks for the quick reply

Hi Dannny, at least as a temporary workaround you can use a file to grant those permissions, it should take care of the "Not Authorized" errors you're receiving.
Check out this post and customize a file with the permissions you wish to grant and who to grant them to.

Thanks Aphanic, that should work for a while ![]()
I still can't find what the actual issue that started this is...
It just started bugging out like this one morning
