please post some information about your sound card or if you get any errors. What steps are you having problem with specifically.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

When I do "sudo alsaconf" I see 3 sounds cards:
hda-intel ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
hda-intel ATI Technologies Inc RV710/7130
legacy Probe legacy ISA (non-PnP) chips
The step I'm having problems with is when I'm going to unmute the master and the PCM, I can only see a Master track, and it's already unmuted. And when I press F6 I can only see (default).

why go for alsaconf? did alsamixer (run as your user) not work for you?
Try this: as your user NOT root
alsamixer
This will display all the mixers and you can see which one is muted. Try unmuting all of them and see if that helps

I've been running alsamixer as not root, since I can't run alsamixer as root.
(edit: Whoops, I'm sorry, the above isn't right.)
When I run alsaconf as my user it says, "You must be root to use this script."
And if I do "gpasswd -a username audio"
It still won't work as nonroot.
Anyway, when I run it as root I see 1 track.
One of my friends that use archlinux tried helping me and said I should go for alsaconf.

why not? i use alsamixer as root to set all "globally". and "alsactl store" after that.
egb - make also sure you added yourself to audio group.

yeah, I did that some time ago
edit: oh and I get this when I do the "alsactl store":
alsactl: save_state:1504: No soundcards found...

Have you perhaps got pulseaudio? If so, install pavucontrol and unmute your sound...

Yeah, I got pulseaudio. But everything that can be unmuted is unmuted. (in pavucontrol of course)
In pavucontrol > Output Devices there is only a "Dummy Output", and in Playback there's a "System Sounds".
If I go to Configuration there, it says "No cards available for configuration"

Alsamixer doesn't work if you have pulseaudio installed. I'm not sure that would work, but have you already installed pulseaudio-alsa? Also, if you uninstall pulseaudio does the sound card still not work? (sorry for my english)

Do you need pulseaudio for anything specific? Otherwise, I'd recommend you get rid of it.

Ahh.. I found out what the problem was, haha.
I wrote "sound" instead for "alsa" in my DAEMONS array.
Anyway, thanks everybody for helping me.
