patch for smoothtask was just released, thanks Zom that you reported the bug. Zom antoher question for smoothtask, it seems that not all application are supported for launchersupport. for example firefox. can you confirm that?

I can confirm it with the firefox beta. Weird.

spupy wrote:

I have no problem with firefox, apart from the fact that when not launched the launcher icon is the Konqueror icon. But I still won't use it because I can't make the launchers and the apps keep order as I tell them.

The problem with launchers reorganizing themselves is a known problem, and it's most likely a problem in the way KDE handles the launchers. It's already reported, about a month ago, and we'll see when a fix is available.

Re: KDE/Plasma Screenshots

KDE4 is such a beautiful interface, it's amazing how far it has come and I seriously believe that it is the most beautiful and functional GUI there is.

Here's mine:

1. desktop1e.th.png 2. desktop2v.th.png 3. desktop3o.th.png

1 - Standard composited desktop

2 - With autohiding panel with SmoothTasks and couple extra widgets, trash, pager and application control

3 - And the seriously awesome Cover Flow alt tab effect

I'm very interested in your netbook interface setup.  Could you share some more details about what themes you used etc...?

Re: KDE/Plasma Screenshots

I used the plain black archlinux wallpaper background but moved the logo up a little bit to make way for the interface (which cannot be moved).

New KDE user, so things might still be a little standard. I'm happy with the looks tho:

How did you get that color on the clock in the tray? Mine looks butt ugly. Also if I change color, it will only affect the minutes, not the hours tongue Are you using kde-unstable?

Edit: Beautiful screenshot btw smile

Thank you very much! Im just downloaded kdebase-workspace.

The clock I used segoe UI bold font which is the default in Windows 7. As for the color I did white for the main and a light gray color for the shadow. Im not sure why when you change the color it only affects the minutes...for me it works fine, sometimes you need to log out and log back in to see the changes.

I hope this helps!

Thank you! I think it was a problem with the font, I used Clockopia before and the problems appeared, but now I changed to the Ubuntu font and it works as expected. Is segoe available in repos or did you copy it from a Windows 7 installation?

Yeah, it seems kinda wonky.  I think they tied it to the controls (or perhaps the API or some such) for activities somehow; I haven't played around with it too much, but that's the impression I get.
