Nice questions. I would have added an option about a fullscreen window manager in the said question cause thats what ive been using no matter what DE/WM im in.
Ratpoison is exceptionally good at that and most others handle it quite decent as well but add useless clutter in the screen like bars etc.
+1 one for posting the results.

I don't like the scale on most of the questions. Disagree and then various levels of agree, instead of disagree - neutral - agree.
Some of the questions have different answers depending on which computer you're referring to. In these cases I answered based on my desktop computer, but I also have a server without X and I'm also using linux at work so it's not that simple. Also, I used to run different distros on the desktop computer and the server.
You can choose "if I could use only linux I would", but you can't choose "I only use Linux". (Again, it depends on what computer you're referring to. I only use Linux on my home computers.)

Agree with this, a common problem with most of the surveys I've taken, pre-supposition that answers would be within a rather small range of what the author considers 'valid' answers

It all depends on what your measuring. For this I wanted to rate levels of agreement. So instead of basically having a scale that is -2 -1 0 1 2; I wanted a scale that is 1 2 3 4 5. Psychologically they are measuring different things. It's almost like using a forced choice Likert scale; because I am forcing you to choose how much you agree, not if you agree.
Make sense?

You can't get an accurate measure of agreement without measuring disagreement.
Why?
When you're expecting
-2 -1 0 1 2
But you're getting
-1 1 2 3 4
Your mind doesn't fully understand the question. You may want to answer -2, but that's not possible. So what do you choose?
You may want to answer 0. You can't. What do you choose?
You may want to answer +1. This is also confusing, because your mind wants it to be where +3 is.
In conclusion, this is not a simple case of hiding the "wrong" answers. You are also inflating the positive answers, rendering the results meaningless.
If all you're interested in is 0 1 2 3 4 5 then change the answers to this :
-5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 4 5
And treat all answers below 0 as 0. (Note : Don't actually do this. Negative answers should not be ignored.)

I posted this on the Gentoo forums at the exact same time and they represent only 12.7% of responses. So does that mean that Gentoo has a less frequented board, smaller community, less involved community, or something else? It could also mean that Gentoo'ers don't like to take surveys. And it could also be complete random chance.
