Sometimes when I do "exit" when sshed to another PC in LAN, ssh session will not exit. The cursor just goes next line and nothing happens. I have to press Ctrl+C. This doesn't happen always - from time to time and there doesn't seem to be any definite reason for this. Help me to fix it please.

man ssh

The supported escapes (assuming the default `~' ) are:
~. Disconnect.

"exit" should work as well.

In my experience, if the connection to the remote host is broken (if the server reboots etc) then tying anything will cause the exact symptoms you describe. The only way to exit is typing <LF>~.

What is "<LF>"?
Remote PC is in the same apartment, I can see its state and nothing happened to it, so it should exit ssh session correctly.
P. S. Does anyone else have this issue on Arch?

What if I entered "~" twice and ssh doesn't accept this combination any more?
