Re: [Solved]Installed arch but got no internet

Well, we need more information on your PC smile
What are you using to connect to the Internet?  A USB dongle with wireless, ethernet port on the motherboard or on a PCI card, etc.?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … ice_module

Those instructions should tell you how to figure out what module you need as well as
how to load it.

Edit: Also, you should post the output of "ifconfig -a".  Just because eth0 doesn't
show up doesn't mean you don't have an interface.  It could be simply named something
else.

Re: [Solved]Installed arch but got no internet

Could you please post the output of lspci -v  It will be long, so use BBCode code tags when you post it.

Henningphan.
I think our posts crossed each other.

Not entirely sure how to see my hardware any command in linux?

That would be the lspci command

Re: [Solved]Installed arch but got no internet

Well, I would use a thumb drive.  Mount the drive and redirect the output of the command to a file on the thumb drive.

Regardless, I think the driver you require is tg3.
Check to see if the driver is loaded using lsmod
Also look through dmesg for clues.  Try commands like dmesg | grep eth or dmesg | grep tg3 or dmesg | Broadcom

lspci -v > somefilename

then copy the file to usb and then use the other computer to paste it here using code tags

Solved:
"modprobe tg3" //it helps me get eth0
than
"dhcpcd eth0"  /to ask for an ip

problem solved, now I just need to find out why tg3 doesnt autoload or how to autoload it.
