running archbang. why?? because its arch, but 90% already set up as my desktop is on arch, and somehow, it managed to get everything bar video drivers & sound working straight out of the box.
something fedora & kubuntu failed at!!
installed to my harddrive, syu'ed then -s'ed vlc on, fixed the sound (this wiki) and it was fine, beautiful, bar video drivers which am still strugglin wit! only bin on a day tho
An update on this, I am going to put for ArchLinux on when I get a few hours access to hard line internet access. Currently only have access to a "borrowed" wireless connection and don't fancy setting the system up with very low signal.
Only issue with archbang is that the audio out jack doesn't work.

I had to put a custom BIOS on this sucker to get the CPU scaling to work without having to rebuild every kernel.

I have been working with different window managers finding one I like. I have used lxde, i3 and awesome on arch. Kde, gnome, gtk+ on other distro's found Arch Linux and have not looked back.
Goals: get more familiar with command line commands and piping. Install alongside xp on my netbook replacing the other Linux, add to my ultrabook alongside win7.
