[06/03/05 11:05] upgraded gst-plugins (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)

[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded gst-plugins-gconf (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded gst-plugins-gnomevfs (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded gst-plugins-mad (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded gst-plugins-ogg (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded gst-plugins-vorbis (0.8.8-1 -> 0.8.9-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded libgnomecanvas (2.10.1-2 -> 2.10.2-1)
[06/03/05 11:06] upgraded totem (1.0.2-1 -> 1.0.3-1)
[06/03/05 11:35] upgraded gst-plugins (0.8.9-1 -> 0.8.9-1)

After all I'm not able to play real player audio (*.rm) with totem.
It reports: there were no decoders found to handle the stream.....bla-bla-bla

What is wrong ?

Thanks,
Sader

I don't think gstreamer is able to play realmedia files, but I could be wrong. If you want xine back, simply install totem-xine.

Re: Totem 1.0.3 not able to play real media after update

With totem 1.0.3 we switched from xine to GStreamer. Since many people are complaining that GStreamer sucks and all those things, I made another package, totem-xine, which is basically the same program, but which uses the Xine libraries instead of the GStreamer libraries.

Thanks, JGC.

GStreamer is not capable of playing Realmedia files, at least not yet. I think you'll find it to have similar troubles with Quicktime files.

If you're really interested in playing movies and stuff, try MPlayer... It plays just about everything.
