After I upgraded to latest Pacman (3.5) I get this:
: Synchronizing package databases...
core 37.4K 211.4K/s 00:00:00 [#####################################################] 100%
extra 471.2K 249.1K/s 00:00:02 [#####################################################] 100%
community 4.0K 98.0K/s 00:00:00 [#####################################################] 100%
archlinuxfr 29.3K 173.5K/s 00:00:00 [#####################################################] 100%
:: Starting full system upgrade...
error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/sync/community.db: (Empty error message)
there is nothing to do
after pacman -Syyu or -Syu. I have followed the upgrade instructions as was given when I updated pacman. I'm not quite sure I've gotten any upgrades after that (latest beeing some after KDE 4.6.2).
Now, I'm aware that the 'nothing to do' can indicate that all is well, but I'm beeing put of by the /var/lib/pacman ... etc error message. Is something really wrong or am I just beeing paranoid about it?
Cheers!

Try a different mirror -- the size of 4.0K seems too small to be valid

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

I don't want to be rude, but I did in fact search before posting; the phrase "error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/sync/community.db: (Empty error message)" was used. And alslo "Empty error message". Waited ages for a result and got like:

Anyhow. Thanks for the forum thead! It did the trick; had to try 3-4 different mirrors, but it's working now. Yay!
