Package naming doesn't follow the Arch Way.

For example, instead of having packages named like "xfce4-whatever" why not just do "xfce-whatever" and let the version number of the package speak the rest?

It's not such a big deal, but it makes more sense. Doing "pacman -S xfce" should be a no brainer but that doesn't work. You have to install "xfce4".

It makes it seem like one can install "xfce3" or "xfce2" but that is against the Arch Way. The Arch philosophy includes "bleeding edge" in it somewhere, so installing "xfce" should automatically give you the latest, whether it be 4, 5, 6, 7, or 20.
