Unable to run startx :

Hi ,
Am new to Arch linux and just completed install it on my system, but after installing Kde and reboot, am unable to run "startx" command :
this in the /var/log/xorg.0.log file contents : http://paste.pocoo.org/show/372237/
/var/log/xorg.0.log.old file contents : http://paste.pocoo.org/show/372238/
~/.xinitrc file contents : http://paste.pocoo.org/show/378834/

What video card do you have?

Your first link above is a bunch of rapidshare URLs - so not much help. There is a very clear error in the old X log concerning the nouveau kernel module - that should be easy to investigate.

already loaded i915 kernel module ...

/var/log/xorg.0.log.old is from gentoo, not arch.

and in .xinitrc replace

twm &
xclock -geometry 50x50-1+1 &
xterm -geometry 80x50+494+51 &
xterm -geometry 80x20+494-0 &
exec xterm -geometry 80x66+0+0 -name login
exec ck-launch-session startkde

with just:

exec ck-launch-session startkde

xf86-video-intel is installed on your system?
pacman -Q xf86-video-intel to check.

xf86-video-intel 2.15.0-1

also tried removing extra lines .... no changes observed ...>
