Shutdown hangs in 100% cases. Reboot works fine.
When I try to shutdown, it finally prints 'POWER OFF' to console, I hear that harddrives spin down. Then the caret stops blinking, but the screen won't go blank and my cpu cooler and power button led are on.
Same effect, when I just call '/sbin/poweroff -d -f -h -i' from command line.
Looks like it's the '-h' option of /sbin/poweroff. Without it all works fine.

Are you using the stock kernel?

Intalling acpid fixed some problems for me while ago.
pacman -S acpid
You have to add it to the daemons array.
Good luck.
