G-Mail's spam filters

My spam count just hit 300... I never read it, never look in the folder, just let it accumulate... Its so nice to be able to trust G-Mail... they've never yet made a false positive for me, and they only make about one false negative a month. So three days ago I decided to stop looking in or emptying the spam folder.

Apparently I get 100 spams a day..... cool. Its so cool.

After my bad experiences with spam control in yahoo, thunderbird, and spam-assassin, this is a real relief.

Re: G-Mail's spam filters

I think i've only had one false positive.  Unfortuneatly, I get about 1 false negative a day.  And I always report it as spam.  But I guess its a ton better than most other spam filters I've used.

Re: G-Mail's spam filters

I've never got any spam on gmail. The trick is to sync it with a mail client thats checks every 5 minutes or so and removes it from the server once its been read. The longer you keep mail on it, the more crap you get, that's "how they do"...unless you give your address to alot of sites...

Re: G-Mail's spam filters

My gmail spam filtering has been almost perfect, I cancount on my fingers how much spam has made it to my inbox.

But there is one poor sod on the Arch Linux mailing list, Aaron Griffin who my spam filter keeps calling spam.

No, I don't hide behind a ridiculous screenname... my name is Dusty in e-mail and bbs and real life too. Legally, Dustin, I suppose, but I'm not overly legal, am I? ;-)

Now, would the real Aaron Griffin step forward? :-D
