Is anyone else having problems with desktop effects? I'm using the latest packages from [testing] and on nouveau rather than nvidia

tomahawk-git specifically requires phonon>=4.5.0. Can you mark kdesupport-phonon as providing that? thanks

You could run OpenGL ES with the closed Nvidia driver ?

How often are new snapshots released? I mean released by the KDE project, not packaged in this repo.

kdm depends on consolekit:
# ldd /usr/bin/kdm
...
libck-connector.so.0 => /usr/lib/libck-connector.so.0 (0x00007f25c325b000)
...
But I don't see it marked as a dependency anywhere.

Hi Butcher,
the snapshots are not released at all now. I'm doing the snapshots "on my own", just by looking out of window and saying "This is a nice day for a snapshot, let's do it". The problem is, that in past week or so anytime I looked out of window I was more like "This day really sucks, let's have a beer" (or something in that spirit). And if you are looking for some regularity or sense in my release schedule, I will probably disappoint you, because there's absolutely none (but you are welcomed to try to find some ).
Luckily, I recently realized that I'm able to compile KDE and play OpenTTD on my computer both at the same time without setting it on fire, so on Friday, while ruling the world's biggest transport company instead of learning function spaces or some similar bullshit, I compiled a snapshot.
Unfortunately for me, I made a typo in version number of the last snapshot (there's a redundant zero), so now I'm running repackage of the new snapshot, bumping the version to 4.6.63. I expect it to be done soon, so you should have the snapshot tonight.
And thanks for the dependency issue, it will be fixed in the snapshot.

Hey, why, your work is absolutely awesome.

Ding! The repository has been updated.
The version has been bumped to .43, because of a typo in previous snapshot version. There are some conflicts in filesystem, but it is safe to run pacman with -f switch.
No promises about next snapshot, final exams are approaching (again ).

Already updated to it. Any clues on why there are no effects inside the KWin section in systemsettings?

I see them all on x86_64. Can you post a console output?
$ kcmshell4 kwincompositing
And specify your architecture, please.

Ah, sorry, I had XRender enabled, selecting OpenGL made them all appear.

Updated to 4.6.43git20110506-1.
I like the new oxygen style .
The bad part: kio_http does not work for me now.
And could you please move google-gadgets to optdeps, if possible?
Offline
The main suspect for non-working kio_http:
testing/krb5 1.9.1-1 [installed]
The Kerberos network authentication system
core/heimdal 1.3.3-4
Implementation of Kerberos V5 libraries
Offline
I have [testing] too and kio doesn't work either, how did you know it's Kerberos related?

Yes, i confirm.

Would you reconsider recompiling kdelibs because of the new krb5 ? Reverting to heimdal breaks all sorts of packages like svn, and lots of kde programs depend on kio_http.

Your wish, my command! New kdelibs are in repo.
+ SPECIAL BONUS tonight for first 10 callers!
I've compiled calligra-suite git snapshot. it's in [kde-snapshots-extra]. You have to remove koffice first, then you can install calligra-git group. I just compiled the package from AUR without actually checking the PKGBUILD and now I realized it does not have properly set replaces=() and conflicts=() arrays etc...I'll fix this in next snapshot, it takes quite a lot of time (godamn lot!) to compile the suite and I had already removed x86_64 build

hi, i have fresh-install in x64 and the same problem with kio_http with ldd /usr/bin/kde4/kio_http.so there are libgssapi.so.2 not found message so even with a symlink to libgssapi_krb5.so.2 doesn't work so... effectively krb5 recent upgrade in testing repo make "something" with kio_http . so during the time to find/wait solution for this problem I will use gtk IM client (or better, console IM client... ahh centerim) and rss client too (i love kopete and akregator )
ciao and thanks...
EDIT: even with the new kdelibs update, konqueror still with the same kio_http error and all others kde apps than search this service (kopete, akregator, rekonq, choqok etc)
thanks for calligra too !!!

I installed testing/kdelibs 4.6.3-2 and amarok can scrobble now. I haven't found any other breakage yet.
The i686 snapshot still has kdelibs 4.6.43git20110506-1 built with heimdal.
Edit:
whoops, should have tried logging in again. Using testing/kdelibs does break things majorly.
kdelibs-4.6.43git20110506-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz is different from the repo metadata:

WOW Calligra thanks.... Been wanting to try that for a while
BTW did you upload kdelibs and phonon-xine to the wrong folder ?
On x86_64:
:: package kdelibs-4.6.43git20110506-2-i686 does not have a valid architecture
:: package kdesupport-phonon-xine-4.6.42git201103026-1-i686 does not have a valid architecture

Yep, still having problems with kio_http + the invalid architecture

So Now it should be all OK. I uploaded the correct kdelibs for both arches and both should be fixed.
