What's the procedure to get json working in PHP 5.3.5? I see the json.so extension commented out in php.ini. Do I just need to uncomment it and restart Apache? or does it require compiling/linking or configuring?
I'm new to Arch and haven't had to do this before.
Thanks.

Well I don't know the answer. I'm sure a quick Google search will help you, and if you need to compile/link something have a look at the ABS.
Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

Sorry, but have you tried your advice?
No, really.
googling for "php json enabled" bring ubuntu(install a metapackage) and gentoo(USE+emerge).
Googling "php json enable arch " brings me here.
Just uncommenting
extension=json.so
makes nothing. Nothing also in logs.
So please give an answer if you have. Everyone can google without your help.

json support is enabled in the php build in arch(--enable-json=shared), you just have to enable it in the config.

Emphasis added to the above. The information you've posted below is more useful for others to be able to help you:

Did you restart Apache like the link above suggests?
/etc/rc.d/httpd restart
