Console login echoes user and password...

Hi all!

Today when I woke up my office workstation and logged in through a virtual console, it echoed back to the screen what I typed on it, namely my username and my password. This happened only once and I can not reproduce the behaviour. Very weird. What does this mean? :-)

Re: Console login echoes user and password...

I had the same problem on tty1 (none of the other ttys though) a few days ago while I was trying out plymouth+uvesafb.

Re: Console login echoes user and password...

Do you use plymouth or uvesafb or both? Because I only have the problem with those two active. Sofar I haven't bothered investigating which of the two causes it though.

I had this problem. Best I can figure is this - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 18#p932018

I've since got rid of plymouth...
