Proxy in Gnome 3? Using Wicd

I tried switching to Network Manager because I thought I could get a proxy running... but it just doesn't work. I've tried proxydriver, but couldn't find any documentation to configure it. I tried export http_proxy, but it doesn't work. Is there a simple bash script that can make force ALL my outgoing connections to go through the proxy? Not just my browser, everything. Is this possible? Thanks.
