Weird issues with Realtek RTL8111/8168B

I'm building new home server with Asus M4A88T-I motherboard. It has integrated network card, Asus specifies it as a "Realtek® RTL8112L Gigabit LAN controller featuring AI NET2 ", lspci sees this device as a "05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL81111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 03)"

I got 2.6.39 kernel and it trys to load r8169 driver which doesn't seem to work at all. I downloaded r8168 driver from Realtek page and installed it successfully, blacklisted r8169 and now I get eth0. I can assing IP for my network card and ping around internet, but here is where strangeness starts: I can ping anywhere and I can see arp table OK, but anything more "heavier" traffic wont go trough. I'm not able to use pacman, not able too open ssh or surf (with links) anywhere. I get always timeout.

I loaned usb-ethernet adpter from work and it works just fine.

Has anyone experienced same?

Are you pinging addresses or are you able to to get domain name services?

Ping seems to resolve DNS ok, I am able to ping anything with DNS names or IP.

Re: Weird issues with Realtek RTL8111/8168B

I made some tests with iperf. I put iperf server on my trouble machine and client on Windows laptop. Both are connected to 1Gbit switch. TCP session just times out, UDP session works:

>iperf -u -c 172.16.0.5
------------------------------------------------------------
Client connecting to 172.16.0.5, UDP port 5001
Sending 1470 byte datagrams
UDP buffer size: 64.0 KByte (default)
------------------------------------------------------------
[ 3] local 172.16.0.101 port 52062 connected with 172.16.0.5 port 5001
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth
[ 3] 0.0-10.0 sec 1.25 MBytes 1.05 Mbits/sec
[ 3] Sent 893 datagrams
[ 3] Server Report:
[ 3] 0.0-10.0 sec 1.25 MBytes 1.05 Mbits/sec 0.025 ms 0/ 893 (0%)

Pretty crappy result? Got same results when I switch roles vice versa.
