LibreOffice renders font-garbage [solved]

Hi!

I installed yaourt and installed extra/libreoffice 3.4.0-2 within a Gnome3 environment.
I can see that much:

Now I looked at the configs, found some hardocded soffice stuff... and well. I was wondering if someone knows what the problem is. Because Libre is somewhat new and maybe that's a bug. - I followed the wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LibreOffice), did # pacman -S ttf-dejavu artwiz-fonts and that pretty much is my site of things for now.

Best,
wishi

Re: LibreOffice renders font-garbage [solved]

is this a problem only with Libreoffice? or all the apps? In case of the latter, see if your locale is set correctly.

Try to restart X as well.

Re: LibreOffice renders font-garbage [solved]

It's just with LibreOffice.

Addionally here are my locales:

wishi@redpad ~ % locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Even a complete system restart does not change the apperance. Neither did renewing the font-cache. sad

Re: LibreOffice renders font-garbage [solved]

Mark it as resolved... there're some Trolltech.conf files with buggy QT defaults. I installed with a Japanese locale-set and switched. So it missed the fonts. - Uncommon problem. I didn't know, that QT had separate internationalization.

My bad... thanks for help anyhow. If anybody else ever faces this: delete ~/.config/ Trolltech.conf and let the application (re)initialize.
